Wrestling With Biomechanics: Leg Riding

Pod

Second in our Wrestling with Biomechanics Series is leg riding! Throwing in hooks, attacking from the back, escaping and anything to do with leg riding. We talk about cross-body riding, taking the back, using your legs as arms in the strategy of leg riding. We then talk about specific anatomical approaches to training for leg riding and some necessities to train. These include hip internal and external rotation, strong adduction, and co-contraction of the hips and trunk! We finish with potential injury risks and how to address these problems you may have from riding legs or getting ridden out! These episodes are really fun for us because we get to talk about grappling intermixed with our physical prep. That’s our game! Let us know what you think of this series! Thanks for listening!
